Liver function tests any advice? - liver function tests more condition_symptoms
Recently, I have a test of liver function in my Docters fact that I am clear this weekend, drink, too. My results came back as a normal function of the liver, but my GGT rose to 40. Docter did not see me but said I should cut, what they drink, so I decided to stop for a moment. What is GGT? Have I damaged my liver, I'm really scared.

The normal range is 0 to 51 IU / L. They are in the normal range. But, but you have passed the course and a half, I suggest a drastic reduction in consumption of alcohol.
It appears that you have started but have not yet done. Just stop drinking long before the danger to his life. The liver is one of the vital organs when damaged, can kill you. The normal range of GGT is 0 to 51 IU / L. Yours enter the upper limit of normal, but may continue to rise due to alcohol consumption.
Gamma-GT is an abbreviation for glutamytransferase that which is an enzyme in the cells of liver and bile ducts. It is a very sensitive indicator of changes in liver and bile ducts. However, an increase of gamma-GT is not a specific indicator of a particular disease.
The most common reason for an elevated gamma-GT is excessive consumption of alcohol. If you drink a lot, it would be better to reduce the consumption of alcohol and the test will be repeated again in the coming months. If your high gamma GT, is due to alcohol, you should find that the level back to normal once you reduce your consumption of alcohol.
In this case, you should not worry about your liver is damaged. But it is important to reduce their alcohol consumption in order to avoid further damage to the liver.
